In RaTexT, partly engorged adult ticks are confined to small compartments and exposed to an acaricide-impregnated, specially designed matrixer, which is removed immediately after from their hosts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe test is based on the principle that recently removed, partly engorged ticks remain actively walking around to finish their blood meal. During this process, they are exposed to lethal concentrations of acaricide. This type of exposure mimics the behaviour of ticks that embark on an acaricide-treated host.
